Youth Retreat 2011.

Just got back from Cherith youth retreat! :) No photos yet so I can't really upload anything now hahaha. It was basically a two-day retreat where we all went for dragonboating, played more games and stayed overnight in a suite at Orchid Country Club. Haha my mum booked and paid for the suite (why's she so nice AHHH.) and it was really pretty! :) Haha it's really big too because it was three rooms connected to each other. Could have stayed there forever but sadly I couldn't... ):

Dragonboating was in the morning, and it was quite fun really, just that the water from the river kept splashing everywhere (as expected). It really wasn't as vigourous as I thought it would be, because we constantly took breaks, and the highest number of times we paddled each time didn't exceed 70. We rowed quite a distance though, even though we only paddled like 10 or 20 strokes each time haha. We were also taught the lesson of teamwork and coordination, and how to apply it to daily life, like how it's easier to get things done as a whole team rather than just a few people. We played this tug-of-war game where each half of the boat will try to paddle as hard and fast as they could to get the boat to move to their side. That was probably the most tiring part of the dragonboating experience haha, but it was fun! Only dragonboated for two hours before going back to shore... didn't get sunburnt! :)

Ate lunch before checking into the suite and then going to Dew's and Isaac's house to hang out! We played Kinnect on Xbox and I found it really cool because the machine just detects your whole body movement and transfers it into the games which is really awesome. You feel like you have the power to control the TV HAHA. After that we went downstairs to play table tennis and badminton, and this little girl came up to us to ask if she could play with us haha. She pwned my brother! :O Either she's really good or my brother's really... Anyway, she asked Pris whether she was the mother of all of us, and she actually said yes!! HAHA and the girl believed her! Lol imagine someone having more than 10 kids! MAD. HAHA.

Back at the suite after eating dinner, we watched this movie called Facing the Giants, which was really inspirational to me and reminded me that nothing, absolutely NOTHING, is impossible with God. A few cool quotes from the movie: "It's easy to lead when you're strong. But when you're weak and vulnerable, that's when you REALLY have to lead." "If you admit defeat, defeat is what you're gonna get." "Your actions will follow your beliefs." Haha, really inspirational film. And it also shows us that God DOES listen to prayer, and God can work miracles in our lives if we let Him. If we have faith that He will provide and listen to our prayers, then we will prepare for what He is about to give us, instead of just waiting empty handed. That reminds me about something. I asked God for a sign a while back and today He has finally shown me a small sign, not significant or glaring, but it has been made known to me. I'm really afraid now, and I don't know what to do if it comes to... that. I pray for strength and courage to face God's will and to do what's right in His eyes.

We played a few games before going to sleep, and the next day we just packed up and checked out which was really sad because I loved the suite! ): But I'm really exhausted now because I didn't really sleep properly and I didn't sleep enough. ):

The retreat was fun, and definitely enriching. I love hanging out with people in God's family. :) And I really just want to submit to God's will, no matter how hard it may be, or how much I may have to suffer. I must submit to His will. Lord, please give me the strength to wholly submit to You.
