2012.
Happy new year! 2011 has come to an end, and it definitely passed way too quickly. It was a good year mostly, so that may be why it passed so fast... Last year has been filled with wonderful memories, all of which I shall list the best memories of the year:
1. SYF'11 with NYSE
The process of preparing for SYF this year was like two years ago, vigorous and tiring, perhaps even more, serving as the president and the section leader of my section. The process was very hard, and I definitely felt like giving up many a times, especially when people didn't cooperate properly and didn't have that fighting spirit as a group... but in the end, all the hard effort paid off and we achieved the Gold with Honours award. We managed to bring back the reputation of NYSE together, and this is the one thing I am so proud of my CCA for. :)
2. Class 412
I didn't exactly like my class in 2010, honestly. But as we turned Sec 4, everyone became much more bonded as a class, and I began to see the good side of my class - the enthusiasm, the mere craziness of the class. Sometimes it just makes me laugh so much that I can't stop. 412'11 has brought a lot of joy into my last year in NYGH and I won't forget them.
3. Youth Fellowship
Through the thick and thin, God has been with me, and along with Him, my Youth Fellowship as well. They're my supporting pillar, and through all my difficulties, I know that they're always there for me, supporting me, helping me in everything. They're just like family to me, even though biologically they're not... I always look forward to seeing them every week. Last month I was so glad to spend most of it together with them. Spending time with them warms my heart so much :)
Yeah, my life has been pretty boring, eh? But it's all the little things that really stay in my heart as fond memories.
Now on to last year's resolutions:
1. Get closer to God (Achieved)
I've achieved this, yay! :) Even though at times I've drifted apart from God, overall in this year I've managed to maintain and develop a closer relationship with Him.
2. Bring friends to church (Not achieved)
In my Youth Fellowship we actually wrote down the names of those we wanted to invite to church in 2011, and the names were pinned up on the Youth Fellowship notice board. I've always kept these names in my memory, but no I didn't manage to invite any of them to church in 2011. ): Really glad that all those friends I've listed have already accepted Christ as their Saviour in the course of 2011 though :)
3. Trust God in everything I do (Achieved)
It was hard, but yes, I've learnt to submit everything to Him.
4. Turn to God first when there is a problem (Half...?)
Still have to work on this, because there're many instances where I tend to just rely on my own strength when there is a problem.
5. Be responsible in every way (Achieved)
Thankfully, I've matured more in 2011 and become more responsible in all my priorities. I've struggled a lot throughout the year, but I'm glad that I've always strived to be responsible in everything. One thing that makes me neglect responsibilities is my mood, so whenever I was in a bad mood, I always tried my best to hold up however I can.
6. Take pride in everything I do (Achieved)
Started 2011 with this in mind, and ended the year with that in mind as well. :)
7. Always be optimistic, and persevere to the very end (Achieved)
Sec 4 was indeed a stressful year, amongst many other priorities, but I've persevered :)
8. Do one thing at a time, and don't panic because God is there to help (Not achieved)
Still have to work at this...
JC life is about to start, and A Levels are coming up in 2 years' time. I really hope I'll be able to handle all my responsibilities properly, as well as enjoy life as much as possible. Stress is inevitable, no doubt, but I know I can handle it, if I entrust everything to God. And that's exactly what I'm going to do this year. Whether the world is ending this year or not, it's up to God, and I will respect His will always, living my life to the fullest for Him, because we only have one life to live.
My 2012 resolutions:
1. Develop a closer personal relationship with God
2. Enjoy JC1 life to its fullest
3. Juggle all priorities well
4. Serve God in everything I do and be a living testimony for Him
5. Take risks, be daring
6. Make sure God is my first priority in everything
7. Develop a better and closer relationship with D
8. Develop a better and closer relationship with my family
9. Exercise 150 minutes a week (2 and a half hours)
10. Save at least $200
11. Practise piano regularly and improve as a pianist
12. Be responsible for everything I'm involved in
