Apollo!
On Sunday night I got that same feeling of anticipation when the CT allocations were released at around 9.30pm as the night when the OG allocations were released. 12S73! I think I became very grumpy and pissed D off :x Oops... But yeah the first day of CT Orientation was pretty sad because I didn't know anyone except Hsieh En and Shanna who aren't exactly very close to me either. That plus the fact that everyone in the CT was probably missing their OGs the whole time, including me. Our first CT session with our Civics Tutor was awkward, and we were very unusually quiet... Kept asking Hsieh En why it was so awkward and quiet hahaha. Even the Orientation games later on didn't help much ): Actually to be honest I feel that icebreaker games aren't really good games to "break the ice", so to speak. Only time and communication will cause people to get to know one another better.
The first impression my Civics Tutor gave me was that he's a very fierce teacher ): Okay after that first CT session my impression changed a little but truthfully he's not a very fun teacher... Our CT can't really get high with him around, which kinda sucks because that means our GP tutorials are gonna be pretty boring.
Anyway on Monday we had our first Faculty Meeting! APOLLO!!! Woohoo! I thought I'd be in Ares at first because that's what Zhao Yong told me the other day during OG Orientation, and I was totally looking forward to wearing a red shirt, but oh well seems like fate has brought me to Apollo! I'm a bullgirl now~ \mn/ I will thank God for whatever He's given me. :) There're many people I know from Apollo, including really close friends like D and Rachel and Mok! :D It's really a blessing that D's in the same faculty as me because usually Physics classes are all in Athena but this year TWO Physics classes are in Apollo instead, and what a coincidence that it's his class! Really love the faculty committee because they're so enthusiastic and high around us haha. And I love the cheers and especially the faculty dance for this year! It has that X-factor, y'know. And when everyone's dancing it at the same time it looks really cool! The C1 Apollonians aren't all that enthusiastic YET, but I'm sure we'll warm up to our faculty soon and become the best faculty ever! :D
Apollo Faculty Dance 2012:
Today with the CT it was much better. At least all of us talked to one another mostly (other than those who simply didn't show up at all). Three of us initiated a frisbee session during our four-hour break after Math lecture and it was fun! :D But all my classmates made me run around the most as the monkey during the game ): After playing frisbee with my classmates I'm now reconsidering joining frisbee because I realised I suck at it. Ah but anyway I was so glad that the air was filled with the sound of laughter and everyone was smiling and getting along :) At least it wasn't as awkward as yesterday! And I'm sure we'll warm up to one another soon enough as well and we'll become an awesome class! During the course of playing frisbee together our CT has already bonded quite a bit. :)
Oh, speaking about Math lecture, the first lecture went pretty well, and we're starting on our first topic which is Binomial Expansion. Going to make sure that while I'm playing with all my heart, I'm studying actively too. Definitely can't afford to slack off over the next two years. So many teachers and adults have said that one of the main tricks to surviving JC is very good time management so I'm going to make sure I keep my time tight! And hopefully I'll get rid of my procrastination habits once and for all (they've been greatly reduced already yay!)! I'm very interested in how to use the Graphic Calculator. It seems so complicated yet fun (yes I'm weird) to be using a different calculator from the one we've used for four years in high school.
After our four-hour long break we had a flag-painting and drama-planning session until 4pm. That was another great way to bond our class other than frisbee :) I really think our flag looks damn cool! Even though up till today we've only drawn the outline haha. I loved the idea of how we combined all four faculties together in one flag, combining together as one HCJC. I'm very sure that after painting it, it'll turn out to be even better! And 12S73 may actually win the flag-painting contest :) Haha everyone was so amused by how proud I was from drawing the bullboy logo for Apollo. But seriously it's very cute! I'll take a photo sometime and post it because it's so CUTE.
After that we had our faculty dance session where we starting learning our fac dance! I feel that sense of accomplishment whenever I manage to (finally) dance a whole 8 beats of the dance properly because I can't dance for nuts hahaha. And the Apollo dance is really good to get high to! However on a side note sometimes I feel that there are rather strong cons in dividing the school into four different faculties. Dividing a school into four simply means that there are four different sections in the school, and that may actually lead to internal conflict between the faculties, which is not uncommon. We're still one school, one HC, but having four faculties distinctly divides the students sometimes, perhaps to the point of confusion. Just my opinion.
Okay this is a very incoherent post because I'm still overflowing with memories I want to put into words haha. I shall look forward to tomorrow where there'll be more bonding in our CTs, and with stargazing @ HC tomorrow night as well! :D
