Haven't updated in a while... Schoolwork is piling up after the first two weeks of school, so I've been busy :/ CCA life has started too so that means that I won't be reaching home earlier than 7pm every weekday other than Monday from now onwards. Really scared for what's gonna happen when PW really starts.

Sometimes I really wonder about the interesting ways in which humans show appreciation and affection. Holding hands I can understand, because many other animals in the animal kingdom do something to that extent as a way of showing affection. However, things like clapping hands to show appreciation, or kissing on the lips to show affection, sometimes I just find those two things particularly intriguing. Yes, call me weird.

We're all very accustomed to the phrase "warm applause", and when people clap for us in encouragement, we feel all warm inside. But this is merely the result of having been brought up to think this way. Have you ever wondered, why do we clap our hands to show appreciation? Why can't it be something else like slapping our knees or something? I mean, yes we do things like that sometimes, but most commonly what we do is put our hands together to produce that clapping sound. If you analyse that motion of clapping hands, you can't really tell why we do that to show appreciation, if you know what I mean.

Couples kiss on the lips to show affection and intimacy. Why's this so? I mean, I've seen dogs and cats licking each other, seen other animals nuzzling with each other, but I've never seen any other animals kissing on the lips other than humans. The closest thing I know of is how birds regurgitate food into their offspring's mouths. Only humans kiss on the lips to show affection. Why is that? Why does the contact on the lips give one such an intimate feeling? Is it because we were brought up to think so? Or is it because we're born with that mentality in mind? And even then, where did this mentality come from then?

I know some may find me odd, but I find human beings very interesting sometimes. The way we call ourselves superior to other animals in terms of our thinking, and also the actions which humans take. Yes, I'm weird, deal with it hahaha.

Council interviews are tomorrow; this will mark the start of an amazing journey, whether I get in in the end or not. Just hope that everything will go smoothly, and I'm entrusting everything to God. If He wants me to be in Council, then that's great. But if He thinks otherwise, I'll just have to accept it anyway. Here goes.
