So, proper lectures and tutorials have begun. I'm proud to say that I've been keeping up and perhaps even ahead with work so far :) This first week of the proper school term passed by really quickly, but somehow it seems as if Orientation is already so far behind, even though it just ended last week. I guess what everyone said is true: JC life will pass by in a flash.

Another thing that everyone said: "JC life is going to be much harder than high school. It's like a whole new level of difficulty and you'll hate it." Statements like this have been drilled in my mind, by seniors, teachers, parents, friends. And now I've become so paranoid that I don't even dare to leave homework that's due next week for tomorrow to do. So yes, I've been keeping up with my work.

Maybe before I launch into my rants about school life with lectures and tutorials, let's talk about Post Orientation Party 2012! :D

POP wasn't a very huge Orientation event as compared to the last two weeks of activities, but it was definitely loads of fun! Basically the four faculties had an epic battle on the dance floor (the Central Plaza), where everyone would dance their own faculty dances one after another. Every faculty was impressive in one way or another, and of course, because everyone put in so much effort to learn and perfect their dances in the course of the past week, in the midst of CT Orientation. Really impressed with the infectious HC atmosphere :) Okay, shan't say much more, but shall post some pictures and the dance videos! :)

From watching the videos, you can probably tell who won POP haha. Ares won! :) Yeap I think they really deserved it, their dance was really well-choreographed and very neat and coordinated too!

And the winner for the 2012 Fac Shield goes to APOLLO! :D:D Because we are so pro hehe.

HCJC Orientation 2012, "Vivace" has been exhilarating. :) And I've grown to love the school so much already. :)

Alright, back to studies haha. As I was saying, yes I've done all my work and have been a good kid so far. Have been deprived of sleep over the past week, and I've been building up a sleep debt. ): Hopefully can catch up with sleep this weekend whoo!

Our timetables came out on Monday, and now after experiencing the first week of the school timetable I understand why some seniors have been saying that the JC timetables suck haha. Breaks are at the weirdest times possible, even with one day having GP tutorial in between two half-hour breaks. What makes it worse for myself is that I don't take Econs, and I'm in a BCME class. So while the rest of my classmates are having Econs, I'll be looming around having breaks that are up to two and a half hours long. My H2 Music lessons are after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and to fit all my classmates' timetables, the Music lessons are at 4-6pm and 5-7pm respectively. I've never had school lessons end at 7pm ): I can foresee that the year ahead is going to be a rather interesting albeit hectic one haha.

Another thing I don't like about the school system in JC is the fact that we don't have our own classrooms... thus we have to lug our heavy bags everywhere we go. And in every lesson, we have to unpack our things before the lessons start and then pack everything again about an hour or so later. But of course this is to prepare us for university, which will be similar to what we're having now, I guess. Each class only has their own class bench, which is shared with our senior classes, which simply means that we're all very crammed all the time at our CT bench haha.

GP lessons have been rather interesting so far, with all the general knowledge on the world as well as news. I really need to buck up my general knowledge... somehow it seems that everyone knows everything except me. ): I'm going to watch the news regularly from now onwards yay! Our teacher, also our Civics Tutor, told us to keep a journal containing articles from the newspapers, which we're supposed to update every week. Somehow I'm really excited about keeping a GP journal. Will make sure to update it at least once (or more) a week! And by the end of these two years it'll be so full of wonderful articles! :) Yes I'm weird.

Chemistry has been fine so far, better than I thought it would be at first. I'm still wondering why my Chem grades dropped so much throughout the course of Sec 4, but hopefully things will turn back up for me in this subject. Chem calculations has always been my weakest area, and for the C1 Chem syllabus it's mostly calculations, so I've got to improve. :/ Thankfully though I've slowly gotten the hang of doing questions on chemical calculations through the Chem tutorial. Somehow I seem to also get a thrill through completing Chem tutorial questions lol. After I manage to finish one Chem question I become really happy and satisfied :)

Biology is quite interesting as well, so far. Last year I didn't really enjoy molecular Biology because I thought it was really dry, but now perhaps because of the long break I'm gaining interest in the subject. I think topics such as the digestive system takes a lot of time to memorise as compared to molecular Biology, which seems SLIGHTLY easier. My Chem tutor is currently one of my favourite teachers because he's really entertaining as a teacher and can gel together with the teenagers' wavelength :)

H2 Music hasn't really begun yet, but I'm quite excited to plunge into the A Level syllabus, particularly the part where we analyse Romantic Symphonies :D Not going to regret taking Music at the A Levels, hopefully! But I really need to start practising piano more regularly already. :/ There's even a class performance coming up soon! :O

I'm quite scare for PW, because all the seniors say it's the worst subject ever which takes up a lot of time. I still don't know what it's like, because the question and the groups haven't come out yet. Not looking forward to that subject :/ Chinese lessons are surprisingly fun! Quite a coincidence that YM's mum is my teacher too. ._. Math is the norm, getting used to the lecturer's teaching, which is good, considering that Ms Teng has taught me for all four years in NY. Hope I can at least stay on top for this subject.

12S73 is quite a fun class. :) Like how everyone knows when to play and when to study, which is exactly the environment I need. Thank God for this. :) JC life is looking up so far, hope it stays that way! I want to be on top of all my work all the time, and to juggle priorities well. :)
