Concordia 2012.

It's almost been a week since Concordia, it's about time I blogged about it!

Concordia was definitely the best concert I've ever performed in, the first and best experience in HCSE. Through the short one and a half hours on stage, we played our hearts out, expressing our emotions through creating music. The feeling on stage was nostalgic, bringing back memories of Artitude from two years ago, only this time it was better. I especially loved the pieces with the full symphonic orchestra, Dvorak 8th Symphony and Pirates of the Caribbean. Thank you HC Band for the wonderful experience.

Felt so much joy when after the concert so many people commented that it was really good, received pretty much only positive comments on the concert. I was so glad to feel the atmosphere of happiness rather than disappointment around. I'm so grateful to HCSE for this great experience in music making, and to Dr Tan who held so much faith in each and every one of us.

SOTA's concert hall is pretty small, really expected it to be much larger considering it is an Arts school after all. But nonetheless, the acoustics were acceptable, and the stage crew was cooperative, so other than the architecture all went well during the rehearsal.

Through the past few months of hard and tiring practice, we brought Concordia to a whole new level of music, so all was worth it in the end. I've always been intrigued with how orchestra members can bond together so much more through the expression of music than through words alone. The word "music" truly means much more than just that. Music is where stories unfold, where raw emotions are revealed, where people connect and communicate. HCSE has helped me to understand that. Thank you. :)

Was having post concert blues and wishing that everyday could be like 29 April 2012, but like a good friend of mine said, special things should not happen everyday, if not they wouldn't be special any more. And I fully agree. The time may pass, but the memories will stay in my heart, always. Thank you, HCSE.
