His Glorious Work.
Happy Fathers' Day! Hugged my dad when I woke up this morning, and was really touched by what he said about how my parents are strict only because they care for me so much. Wish I could have done more for him today.
Happy Fathers' Day to my Father in heaven, too. :)
Other than Fathers' Day, we had an evangelistic church event (Amazing Race) today, and the truth of God's Word never fails to amaze me all the time. Small things that happen at unexpected times, but all these revealing God's great power all the same. To all those out there who are facing some form of trial and/or persecution, I just hope and pray that we all stand firm in God's truth, and not waver no matter the circumstances. Always remember that God is by our side always, and He is always for us, so we should never blame Him; instead, trust in Him alone to make things right. Romans 8:32: "If God is for us, who can be against us?" We will face persecution, even more in the corrupted world that is of today. But it's all for our Lord's glory, and we will be rewarded.
It is very true, what a pastor said, how when one gains a spiritual victory, spiritual tests will come, sometimes immediately after. Very evident in today's case. But I'm glad nonetheless that our evangelistic event was a success. I was very moved to see that a few of our invited friends showed interest in learning more about God's truth. Trusting in the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts.
Shared the gospel to an audience officially for the first time today; a great experience. You don't seek perfection but simply the ability to be God's messenger, speaking for Him and through Him. That joy you gain from sharing God's message is overwhelming. And even though none may respond to His message immediately, you have still succeeded because you have planted a seed in their hearts, a seed which the Holy Spirit will mature and grow in His time.
Felt very encouraged by my Amazing Race group. Started out as one of the last groups (more like the last group) because we got lost looking for the Helix Bridge at Marina Bay. -.- But managed to catch up from last to third place at the last station! So my group won Swensens vouchers as our third prize. :) Truly encouraged.
One week left to BTs; pretty much screwed for everything but there's still one more week right? Have to make full use of it.
VOTD:"Sing to God, sing in praise of His name, extol Him who rides on the clouds; rejoice before Him - His name is the LORD. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy dwelling." Psalm 68:4-5 (NIV)
