What Makes Us Happy?
01 July 2012 | 0 comments
It's July. Time is flying. A quarter of JC life is already over. It's been a mixture of feelings, life in HC. There were horrible times, and also good times. Things that have nurtured me into more of the person I was meant to be. Have not exactly found my own identity just yet, still being morphed into a better person through the different experiences of life.

I was talking to my mum earlier today about mid-life crisis, and what it's really about. My mum told me that it is the mental crisis that comes when you realise half your life has already passed and you are afraid that you won't achieve anything at the end of your life. Half the journey's already gone. I probably shouldn't be thinking of such things now at the age of 17, but at the end of my life, I suppose right now I don't really mind not achieving anything big. I have no intentions of becoming famous or well-known. What I really want to achieve at the end of my life is to:

1. Know that I've glorified God as a living testimony
2. Made a good significant impact on those I'm close to
3. Pass down something worth remembering to my children (if I have any)

Not a very exhaustive list, just small things that I hope some will remember me by. It's true that we come into this world with nothing, and leave with nothing either when our time has come to meet our Creator. But it's possible to leave an impact, definitely.

Throughout our lives, we make decisions. As a matter of fact, we make decisions at pretty much every little conjecture of daily life. What we wear, where we go, what we eat, etc. As well as bigger decisions such as which school we should go to, what should we specialise in. It's the decisions which make us who we are. And we can always choose to do what's right, even when it's not easy. Life is about decisions.

I pray that July will be a good month for all. :)
