“We can love someone so deeply, but they may not be the place to invest our lives. On the other hand, just because you can’t invest your life in that person doesn’t mean you shouldn’t or can’t love them. It simply means we understand the extent of what we can invest in our love for them. Love does not automatically render the responsibility and strength needed to uphold a life commitment. Be careful who you give your life to because those days, moments and hours can never be returned but love whomever you please.” - Jada Pinkett-Smith
The past few days have been eventful and fun, thanks to the National Day holiday! :) Though unfortunately I didn't do much to celebrate National Day other than watching the NDP live on TV. Not a very patriotic Singaporean, I know, but I still do feel a sense of belonging and pride when I watch Singapore's story during the NDP.
We had National Day celebrations in school on Wednesday, 8 August, also my older brother's birthday. Like I said, didn't do much to celebrate the country's birthday. Went out with PH to have a delicious lunch at Professor Brawn Cafe, followed by walking around aimlessly until we were both dead tired before going home, haha. The best times are always spent with him. ^^ That night we celebrated my brother's 18th birthday by having quite a short (and hilarious) birthday cake and song, followed by watching The Dark Knight Rises as a late night movie. Some photos below:
My birthday text to my brother. Retarded siblings FTW.
Brother's little gift from me! (though he has yet to open it because it's sealed so tightly oops)
National Day itself was quite mundane, other than buffet lunch with R, J and C! C ordered so much food since he's a regular customer, and it was so filling and so entertaining talking to the three of them! :) They definitely made my day that day. Again, didn't really celebrate National Day in the best way possible. Photo:
10 August was well-spent, with PH again. :)
All in all, it was a holiday well spent, even though I really wanted to do much more work then I did in reality. Gonna have to rush out everything within < 1 day now. :/ Next week's full of tests, SPAs, PTs and timed assignments. Really hope I won't screw up (that badly). It's about time I woke up and started working towards my ultimate goal.
