Was pretty productive in terms of doing work and revision yesterday, but today was just the total opposite :/ I kind of wrote out a daily plan of what to study and what to complete, but for today I haven't completed any of the to-do's. Looks like I'm really going to have to burn some midnight oil tonight. I really need to finish studying a considerable amount of the J1 syllabus before December, because when that month comes all the activities start to flood in and in the blink of an eye it'll be 2013. So I'm counting on the next 10 days or so to get as much revision done as possible. The only thing productive I did today was probably going for bass lesson and practising piano. Not good!

Anyway, perhaps one reason why I didn't manage to do any work today was because I procrastinated a lot by finishing the book I was reading, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.

I couldn't stop reading towards the end because so many twists suddenly came up and I was so engrossed in the storyline! I'm sorry self. :( Anyway this book was the first Nicholas Sparks book I've read, and it didn't disappoint. :) At first it seemed like a very cliche book, with a very normal plot that just went along as it was, but as the story progressed many twists and turns came up, and very unexpected ones at that. Just when you think all is settled, something pops up. And when you think things can't get any worse, Sparks proves you wrong. Especially towards the end of the book, as I've mentioned earlier. A really good book, in my opinion.

Also, The Last Song was not just about a love story. It also teaches a lot of values, and I really loved how Nicholas Sparks incorporated music into this book (personal preference), as well as the love of God! Sparks wrote about the beauty and presence of God in everyday situations, so applicable and so realistic in real life. This book really just led me to think and believe that when things get bad or even worse than that, it's up to you to turn things around and change the situation you're in. And we can always believe in prayer. When we pray to God, He hears us and He answers us. And we can also believe in miracles from God, because He can make the impossible possible.

The Last Song is really a great read, not just fiction but also relating to real life.

On a side note, just want to say that actions really speak louder than words. You can say something yet contradict your words completely from what you do. You can say something to someone, but when your actions prove otherwise, the words hardly mean anything any more. And I'm at fault for that, I know. Most of us have been at one point or another in life, but what's different is just how badly it affects others. This picture from Tumblr explains it all:
