These Little Things.
Just had my second Math tuition earlier tonight, and it was lovely :) I feel so blessed to have amazing teachers, particularly my Math tuition teacher and piano teacher (who both coincidentally have the same name). They really help me out a lot :)
Realised that there are many little things in life which make it all the more worthwhile. The reason why we're unhappy is mostly because we're looking at the negative parts of our life. Why not spend the energy more wisely and focus on the good things instead? Life is full of adventures and unexpected moments, which make living worthwhile. Simple things such as unexpectedly bumping into an old friend or seeing a loved one smile in surprise because of a gift you gave them can really make my day. Even being grateful and remembering the many blessings I have that I usually take for granted makes me happy.
I haven't actually updated very much on the things that I actually DO on a daily basis, so here goes. (Warning: short spurts of events coming up.)
Had Chemistry QA practical today, and it was so memorable because it was horrid. There were a series of little experiments we were supposed to conduct, supposedly in pairs. Firstly, could not find a pair because there were an odd number of people in the class. Secondly, working with two particular others wasn't very conducive, because it seemed like they were being hostile to me most of the time. I don't know, am I being too sensitive again? Thirdly, we didn't know what was going on in the experiments half the time, so we were blindly following the instructions on the practical worksheet.
Alright, best not to dwell on bad experiences for too long. Moving on, the rest of the school day today was pretty alright, and it ended nicely with Math tuition. (I'm so weird huh, I like Math tuition.)
Had consult with Mr L regarding composition yesterday, first consult of the year. I'm actually looking forward to composing something that is completely original, and developing it even further into something great to submit for A Levels towards the end of this year. It's not going to be an easy task, but I'm up for it! Mr L also mentioned that he may want to hold a "camp" during the June holidays for us to focus on working on our compositions, which is pretty cool as well.
Had practical consult too, with Mrs H last Thursday. She said my musical standard has declined after Sec 4 (seems like that was my prime time because all the teachers are saying the same thing), but I'll get it back. Pledged to work hard and practise as much as I can. Also switched from doing a two piano piece for ensemble to a trio, and pretty excited about it because I've got amazing musicians to play with me (eternally grateful for them), and the piece I chose looks promising and so beautiful.
Also going to have to fill in the Trinity LTCL Diploma exam application form soon; just makes the exam all the more real and close.
VOTD:
"So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ." Galations 3:26-27 (NIV)
