As long as I'm laughing with you.
Block Test 1 was alright I guess, overall better than I expected (maybe because of promos haha). The questions were not as hard as I thought they'd be, but of course they still posed a certain level of difficulty.
The first core paper I took was Math, and for Math I really did practise a lot; I kept revising all the concepts over and over, and kept doing questions from the revision package, bombarding my tuition teacher with a ton of questions. I made sure I was clear on all the more difficult concepts, and made sure I tackled the harder set of questions from each topic. I put in a lot of effort, and I suppose it did pay off a little. Some of the same type of questions I did in the revision package came out during the Math paper, but overall it was still really tough. Seniors have been telling me that it's very difficult to score high in Math because of the level of difficulty the questions always pose, especially from our school.
Biology was much easier and manageable as compared to the promos paper last year. Didn't manage to finish the planning question though, but I kind of expected it. Chemistry was more or less the same; easier questions, didn't finish planning either.
There's just one more paper left: Music. Finally, the thing I love and treasure. Studying for other subjects like science and math is tiring because it's mainly memorising of concepts or just repeating stuff repeatedly to yourself. But what's great about music is that there's no limit. Sure, classical music may be limited in number, because who composes music of the classical period any more right? But the way you can interpret a single piece of music is limitless. It's open to an individual's interpretation. Also, music speaks for itself. Through the music one plays, a listening audience will be able to feel the identity of the player. Because through a musician's fingers and body, he expresses himself through the music he plays. Music is an art. Music is beyond what words can express. And that is what I love.
10 symphonies to study for Music, no biggie. Looking forward to a change in what I'm studying after math and the sciences. Sometimes I regret taking the science stream. Some people I meet ask me, "Hey what subject combi do you take?" And I say BCMM, then they go, "Really? But you look much more like an arts person." I take that as a compliment haha. Arts students are generally more diverse in their thinking, more flexible, more creative. They think up the greatest ideas and concepts out of nothing, and that's what I admire in them. Well anyway, after A Levels I'll be able to focus on music alone, and I'm definitely looking forward to that. :)
Maundy Thursday today, going to church in a while to remember the greatness of God's love for mankind, no matter how faulty we are, no matter how much we've sinned. He atoned for ALL our sins when He died that night on the cross. What is love? That He gave His one and only Son to die on the cross for the sins of mankind. That is the greatest love of all.
